At CHDR, we offer an array of cardiac electrophysiology services, Cardiology Services®, as screening for possible cardiac adverse reactions is a crucial part of early clinical drug development trials. Currently, cardiac events are evaluated by monitoring multiple electrocardiograms (ECGs) during the study course while subjects are in a fasting state. However, because the effect of fasting on the change of the QTc interval is not considered during this evaluation, it is possible that compounds are unnecessarily re‐investigated or even erroneously rejected. Therefore, we compared the effects of 4- and 10-hr fasting on standard 12‐lead ECG recordings. Read the full article here
