Study participants can enjoy their stay in an environment that's designed with their comfort in mind. Our modern accommodation offers a range of opportunities for rest, relaxation and entertainment.
CNS multifunction research rooms
A dedicated research suite for acquiring pharmacodynamic data ensures smooth and efficient study execution. Data-rich insights are provided by NeuroCart, PainCart, driving simulator, CSF sampling and more.
Accommodation
Our study volunteer accommodation consists of bright, two-bedded rooms, allowing safe and comfortable in-house stays.
First-in-human unit
Our high visibility first-in-human trial unit enables rigorous safety testing while maintaining the highest level of comfort for participants. We provide in-house cardiology services and electronic data capture.
Biomarker lab
Our in-house, state-of-the-art biomarker laboratory handles fresh samples collected from healthy subjects and patients to measure a wide variety of cellular responses. This includes a flow cytometer, flow hoods, fluorescent microscopy, ELISA, magnetic cell sorting and an ELISPOT reader.
Sample management lab
Samples are efficiently transferred for management and processing by our laboratory staff. The laboratory is fully equipped with centrifuges and fridges for both temporary and long term storage.
Multifunction research rooms
We strive towards a deep understanding of pharmacological activity of new investigational compounds. Our flexible research rooms offer a wide range of unique tools and techniques, including spirometry, DermaToolbox and more.
Open office space
A light and open work environment stimulates collaboration and innovative thinking. Our modern office space offers flexible work areas and meeting rooms, with designated offices for study monitors.
Auditorium
With a dedicated space for sharing ideas, we promote education and cultivate talent. The 45-seat auditorium hosts workshops and seminars, as well as scientific advisory board meetings, subject information sessions and more.
Screening unit
Easily accessible by public transport, the Screening Unit is just a stone's throw from CHDR’s main facility and the Leiden University Medical Center. The unit is laid out to optimise the screening process, with dedicated screening rooms as well as test rooms housing our NeuroCart and PainCart test batteries.
GMP Pharmacy
The Pharmacy at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) prepares and delivers the pharmaceutical products used by CHDR, including investigational medicinal products (IMPs). This Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)-licenced pharmacy offers tailor-made solutions to help answer our sponsors’ questions.
Hospital-based unit
We operate a dedicated 8-bed unit at the nearby Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). This unit is ideal for studies that require specialised assessments available at LUMC, or for higher-risk compounds needing close monitoring in proximity to intensive care. With a flexible approach, we can accommodate patient studies and ensure the highest level of care and safety for complex clinical trials.
