Maurits Vissers
Maurits Vissers (born 1987) was trained as a pharmacist at the University of Groningen. During his studies, he spent six months as a visiting researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States. Over the course of his career, he has held various positions within the pharmaceutical industry, gaining experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Technology (Astellas), Pharmaceutical Compounding (Fagron), and Medical Affairs (AbbVie). He successfully completed both the Global Management Traineeship at Fagron and a High Performing Leadership Program at AbbVie.
In 2018, Maurits completed a post-graduate program in Clinical Development with the Paul Janssen Future Lab (Leiden), which sparked his enthusiasm for early-phase clinical research. That same year, he joined CHDR as a Clinical Scientist to pursue a PhD focused on early-phase clinical pharmacology studies involving disease-modifying drugs for neurodegenerative disorders. He earned his PhD in 2023.
After progressing to the role of Experienced Clinical Scientist in 2021, Maurits completed his training and became a registered Clinical Pharmacologist in 2022. Since 1 January 2023, he has served as CHDR’s Head of Operations and a member of the Management Team. In 2025, he further enhanced his leadership expertise by completing the INSEAD Chief Operating Officer Programme.
